Introducing J: Magazine, the luxury magazine of The Jiffy

At long last, a dream I've had for a few weeks is finally here. The debut issue of my new luxury leisure magazine: J.
More fully, its name is J: Magazine The Style Magazine Of The James Cave Instagram Feed, and the pages are as rich in wisdom, adventure, and verve as its name is long.
J: Magazine will come out quarterly, and every issue will feature stories about upstate people, places, and things, or as we like to say in the magazine industry: nouns.
As I try to figure out ways to earn revenue from The Jiffy, and build more meaningful offerings for the J'Fay Supreme community, it seemed clear that I needed a flagship title. This living brand needed a magazine of record.
And so for inspiration I turned to the particular genius of who else but The Great Trinity: Martha, Oprah, and Joanna Gaines.
Martha, for her ability to monetize her taste; Oprah, for her ability to monetize her values; and Joanna, for her ability to monetize her family. And importantly, they each appeared on so many of their magazine's covers over the years.

In this issue, it's Mud Season 2025, and you'll not only find me in my first-ever cover magazine photo, but also:
The Moodboard: a full spread of this season's visual energy, walking you through the treasures of the magazine.
The Cover Story: in this case, "What Is Mud???"
Jiff-Notes: During my journeys across the region, I tend to take a lot of notes. So here is where I’ve compiled them into helpful guides for living your best life upstate. And in my interview with Dr. Jane Lucas of the Cary Institute of Ecological Studies, I took a lot of notes when she began sharing tips on how to decompose productively at home.
A Book Excerpt: So many literary giants call upstate New York home, and in this issue, we have the world debut of a new work of historic romantasy by B. D. Essum, "Ripped By Winkle."
Interiors Of Superiors: During my series "This Old Vibe," I quickly became aware of two things: 1) There are so many superior houses and people across the Hudson Valley. Perhaps I might be able to gain access to them by offering to profile the house and its stylish inhabitants. Maybe the house's history is superior to my house's. Or the person who lives in the house has superior taste. Or maybe they're just more successful than me. I wanted to create a situation where I might be able to have some of their superiority transfer over to me. 2) I also found that magazines often have a luxury real estate and interior design section where area real estate agencies can purchase ad space, so if that's you and you're interested, absolutely DM me because I have a rate card with affordable sponsorship packages I can send right away.
Every issue will have a photo essay by the elusive C'Avedon, and sometimes a food essay by the anonymous food critic The Hungry Eye.
The back page, "And Finally…," is our shoppable round up. This issue features The Travel Log's everyday items, such as two pairs of socks, trekking poles, and her Valle V202707 Inflatable Kayak aka "The Truckee Ducky."
It is, as they say in the glossy world of magazines, a beginning.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed making it in Canva.
J’Fay Supreme subscribers can access the full issue using the special link below the paywall break at the end of this letter.
And if you haven’t upgraded to J’Fay Supreme yet — you can do that here, and I’ll send the issue your way:
Happy mud season. Happy reading. Happy beginnings.
